This past October, my best friend and I took a road trip around Michigan. He has been living in Utah for the past few years so we wanted to make the homecoming as spectacular as possible. We wanted to explore different areas of the state that we haven’t been to before. Our goal was to surf as many as of the Great Lakes as possible and ride our mountain bikes on the days were there wasn’t surf. In between we visited some of his family and did some standard Michigan touristy things that neither of us have ever really done. The trip had a mix of weather, multiple A & W’s, a host of problem bears along the Little Manistique River, and a pristinely preserved guest house from the 1960s without power that we weren’t sure if it was haunted or not. It was a well needed week of relaxation, even though we drove more than 1300 miles. Below is a collection of photos taken on the trip on my iPhone, GoPro, and DSLR.
